The Customer Service Centre at 161 Queen Street is being renovated. During this time our helpful team can be found at Waiata House, 27 Lincoln Road - opposite McDonald's. You can access all of our regular services like payments and people at the temporary location.
The Project
The renovation will transform the space into a hub that is fit for the future. It will have:
- The customer service centre,
- accessible Council chambers,
- spaces to meet with elected members, and
- an Emergency Operations Centre (EOC).
The EOC is where Civil Defence staff gather to manage emergencies like extreme weather events and earthquakes.
We think the work will take about six months with reopening scheduled for October or November this year.
