Every three years Council creates a long-term plan (LTP) that lays out what we have planned for the next ten years.

In the years between LTPs, we create annual plans - these look at what we plan to spend over the next 12 months and how we're doing compared to what was forecast in the LTP.

In the LTP we thought that rates would increase 6.5 per cent this year, with careful financial management this has been reduced to a 5.2 per cent increase. This includes investing in:

  • Road renewals - $7.66 million
  • Wastewater upgrades and renewals - $2.18 million
  • Water supply renewals - $10.48 million

At the end of each year, an annual report and summary annual report let the community know what has been achieved.

Have your say

The annual plan process is one of the ways you can have your say about Masterton's future. In this plan we're asking you about two things:

  • increases to user fees and charges for Council services, primarily to bring them in line with inflation.
  • a new lease policy charging framework that will deliver a consistent and equitable approach to community leases for things like sportsfields and clubrooms.

You can also use the text box at the bottom of the form to tell us anything else we should know. Get started by reading the proposals in the consultation document and then complete your feedback.
